This erosion is greatly due to the nefarious influence of multinationals and international finance, which are all interests served by the US State Dept. and various other entities that they've published sensitive materials from, via whistleblowers. Assange's legal problems remind me a little bit of the DC Madam's. I was a member of her defense for a time as a general researcher.<br /><br />We shouldn't be surprised that the lawlessness that was always there is coming out into the open. Their reaction was predictable, the public one less so.
