Yes, you're right, Naomi has m...@ Sandra Skoog

Yes, you're right, Naomi has made one or two mistakes about both this case and how generally sex crimes cases are conducted in Sweden. BUT the whole point of her article is that the way both this case and others in Sweden are investigated is completely against generally accepted practice around the world, and - most importantly - therefore contrary to natural justice.

As you said, however, even what we know so far from the police protocol reveals only the most minor offences. So why the Interpol notice, the European Arrest Warrant, the refusal to interview Assange abroad (when that's standard procedure), the insistence his questioning must take place on Swedish soil so a DNA sample can be taken face-to-face when he's already given DNA and that isn't even an issue when neither side disputes sex took place?Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03956619081572614849noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16506211.post-26525539566459479892011-02-21T14:50:18.508+01:002011-02-21T14:50:18.508+01:00Sandra Skoog: If it is not standard practice in Sw...Sandra Skoog: If it is not standard practice in Sweden to record assault victim statements to tape, then the problems in that country are bigger than we originally imagined.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16506211.post-27756119531925518052011-02-21T14:48:02.201+01:002011-02-21T14:48:02.201+01:00Megaton Sax is correct - Miss W did not formally s...Megaton Sax is correct - Miss W did not formally sign her statement, rendering it invalid. It is not Assange's fault that the police did not follow their own procedures correctly, considering the grave nature of the allegations.
Furthermore, Miss A would not have gone to the police had it not been for Miss W contacting her first. That in itself suggests collusion. And then there is the matter of Miss A (infamously) tweeting about her wonderful time with Assange AFTER the alleged incident took place.
In short, there are good reasons why many people realise this case is bullshit.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16506211.post-40048701678865056102011-02-21T02:16:22.056+01:002011-02-21T02:16:22.056+01:00If Assange could be extradited from Sweden to the ...If Assange could be extradited from Sweden to the US (on what charges?), he could also be extradite directly from the UK to the US. The summary containing the rape allegation was never read back to the woman and was never approved by her, rendering it utterly useless in court.

Swedish law requires the prosecutor to be strictly neutral and also consider exculpatory evidence. In an SMS to a friend shortly after the alleged rape, Woman W stated that she was only half asleep (also stated in a testimony by another friend). This SMS has not been made available to Mr Assange’s defense team, only briefly shown to his Swedish lawyer who was not allowed to take notes and forced to accept a gag order.Megaton Saxnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16506211.post-25400177941863273962011-02-11T14:14:28.493+01:002011-02-11T14:14:28.493+01:00ntressant artikelntressant artikelAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16506211.post-23563655189588995742011-02-10T20:18:08.181+01:002011-02-10T20:18:08.181+01:00You are very dead certain in your complaints about...You are very dead certain in your complaints about the handling of the Assange case. An you are very wrong on many accounts, e.g.:

1. The two women went to the police station together but they were not interrogated together.

2. Claes Borgström is not a corporate lawyer, rather he is one of the most famous criminal lawerys in Sweden.

3. No, it is not confirmed that Karl Rove assists the Swedish government with the Assange case (besides, he descends from Norway, not Sweden). The latest confirmed Rove activity in Sweden was during a political conference ("Almedalsveckan") 2008 where all Swedish parties participate.

4. If you learned, you know, a second language (or third - I also speak french as the IT consultant I am), you could maybe have read the transcripts yourself. There you would have found several occasions of non-consent.

5. There are three points in the case against Assange. Rape is only one of them, the others are molesting and "sexual duress".

6. The two accusers have not tried to contact Assange after their first contact with the police.

I could go on like this for quite a bit but it is obvious that Ms Wolf is wrong on so many different, important, facts that her whole analysis of the situation becomes dull and irrelevant.

My private opinion about the case is that it is probably not rape and probably some kind of molestation and/or indecent exposure and similar minor sex crimes. Besides that, Assange has behaved like an asshole, but being an asshole is in itself not a crime, which also Ms Wolf should be happy about.Sandra Skooghttp://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=31922483&l=1296babf22&id=1409359388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16506211.post-36219275387399031462011-02-10T01:45:08.228+01:002011-02-10T01:45:08.228+01:00Thank you Naomi Wolf for writing about this in suc...Thank you Naomi Wolf for writing about this in such a clear and thorough way.
