More importantly; the quote comes from a book by the early feminist and liberalist Thomas Thorild. In it he argued that personal freedom is very important, but that freedom should be used for the good of humanity rather then for personal gain or such. It´s true that the quote was put over the auditorium door by a conservative principal, but its deeper meaning is quite liberal for those who are familiar with Thorilds work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
